The US Embassy in India wrote on Twitter (now X).- “The US Mission in India is pleased to announce… we issued a record number over 90,000 of student visas this Summer. This summer almost one in four student visas worldwide was issued right here in India! Congratulations and best wishes to all the students.  … Who have chosen the United States to make their higher education goals a reality! That’s a wrap! With teamwork and innovation…we ensured that all qualified applicants reached their programs on time.”

Moreover, in a news interview conducted by ANI, the US Ambassador also mentioned that PM Modi and Biden are planning to ease and speed up the visa process for Indians. They are doing this by approving more bodies in various places like Hyderabad and other big cities. By doing this they will be making sure that more people can work on this. 

“In the past year, the Mission has expanded its staffing to facilitate more visa processing than ever before. The Mission has made significant capital improvements to existing facilities, such as the U.S. Consulate in Chennai, and has inaugurated a new Consulate building in Hyderabad,” a statement from the US Embassy said. They said they have changed their system and are working smarter and harder in order to process the large number of visas rotting as the dead backlog. while also ensuring that the newer once get approved as soon as possible. 

Numbers and Surpassing Goals:

This also established one of the strongest travel relationships in the world. The number saw a 20% hike if we compare it with the 2029 data. “Indians now represent over 10% of all visa applicants worldwide, including 20% of all student visa applicants and 65% of all H&L-category (employment) visa applicants. The United States welcomes this growth,” a statement from them said.

Further, this year they have planned to implement a pilot program that will enable domestic visa renewal. This program will be for the qualified H&L category employment visa applicants.
